1 Corinthians 13:1-3

"If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing."

The Spirit of God is our Remedy!

If you are a follower of Christ and leave a Sunday Morning Church Service feeling convicted that you may be guilty of unrepentant sin and the remedy offered in the message is basically that you need to get your act together and start changing your habits and attitudes, or it may be that you aren't really a Christian, I have good news for you. That is not the remedy!

Read this:
The Spirit of God indwells all true believers. We are told that if we walk in the Spirit we will not fullfil the lust of the flesh. If we want to experience the freedom we have in Christ, we need to understand God's remedy. If you desire peace of mind, comfort, light, purity, power over sin, and many other precious blessings they are all inseparable from the indwelling Spirit's presence. You will never remedy any of your issues without depending upon and acknowledging that TRUTH and walking in that REALITY.
How is the Spirit of God the believer's remedy?

As the only truly purifying water he cleanses us from the power of sin and sanctifies us unto holiness, working in us to will and to do of the Lord's good pleasure.
As the light, he manifested to us at first our lost estate, and now he reveals the Lord Jesus to us and in us, and guides us in the way of righteousness. Enlightened by his pure celestial ray, we are no more darkness but light in the Lord.
As fire, he both purges us from dross, and sets our consecrated nature on a blaze. He is the sacrificial flame by which we are enabled to offer our whole souls as a living sacrifice unto God.
As heavenly dew, he removes our barrenness and fertilizes our lives.
As Comforter he dispels the cares and doubts which mar the peace of his beloved. He descends upon the chosen as upon the Lord in Jordan, and bears witness to their sonship by working in them a filial spirit by which they cry Abba, Father.
As the wind, he brings the breath of life to men; blowing where he listeth he performs the quickening operations by which the spiritual creation is animated and sustained.

(Excerpt from Morning & Evening - Spurgeon).
I highly recommend re-reading Galatians 5 (Freedom in Christ). Oh go ahead and read all of Galatians! And please remember that the motivation for true believer's is not to gain approval but to experience all of the blessings that being "In Christ" brings and to live a life that does not dishonor Christ's name.
